Top Ras al khaimah hotels

Ras al khaimah(also known as RAK) is one of the Persian Gulf Arab sheikhdoms forming the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Its name means "Top of the Tent". The emirate is in the northern part of the UAE, bordering Oman's exclave of Musandam. It covers an area of 1,684 square km. The capital city and home of most residents is also called RAK. The emirate had a population of 210,063 at the 2005 Census, of which 41.82 percent or 87,848 were Emirati citizens.

The RAK International Airport, called RAK Airport is situated 20-minutes from the city centre. The Emirates Road (E311) allows reaching Umm Al Quwain (UAQ) in half an hour, Sharjah hotels in less than an hour, Dubai in 1 – 1.5 hour (depending on the traffic) and Abu Dhabi in around 2.5 – 3 hours. The old Coastal Road (E11) is slower but takes you directly to Sharjah via UAQ and Ajman. Fujairah can be reached via the mountain passage or via Masafi (E18) in about 1-1.5hour.
